First, we got Annabelle as a spin-off to The Conjuring, now we get The Nun, based on a character from The Conjuring 2.

The great success of The Conjuring is creating extra horror movies for the fans, and now that The Conjuring 2 is dominating the box office around the world, we get a spin-off called The Nun. The movie is based solely on the demonic nun character from The Conjuring 2.

The funny thing is, however, that the nun was added to The Conjuring 2 only 3 months before the premiere. James Wan had an epiphany and decided to do reshoots to add the character. And now she gets her own movie!

The Nun will be produced by James Wan and written by David Leslie Johnson, who co-wrote The Conjuring 2.

Here’s the plot:

When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in “The Conjuring 2,” as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.

The Nun is scheduled to haunt theaters on September 7, 2018.

But first, we get Annabelle 2, the successor to the spin-off Annabelle from 2014. The movie will premiere on May 19, 2016, in the US and will be directed by Swede David F. Sandberg, director of the upcoming Lights Out.
